Scalp Micro Pigmentation
Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) is the process of tattooing the scalp to give the appearance of very short hair. On a bald head the finished result looks like a ‘buzz cut’, and on thinning hair the scalp looks darker which makes the hair look significantly thicker. The process can also be used to cover scarring on the scalp and for patchy hair loss (alopecia).
Although thinning hair is quite common in both men and women, we know how distressing it can be; wigs or hairpieces are a great solution for many people, but are not for everyone for a variety of reasons. SMP is a realistic solution that gives people their confidence back – the treatment is permanent and can take a few sessions to complete (depending upon your circumstances) so it’s important to find a qualified technician who can give you the best advice and help you decide whether it’s the right treatment for you.
