We are in LOVE with Directions Hair Dye!
So just why do we love Directions hair dye so much? Well it is by far the best semi permanent hair colour around… It’s long lasting and vibrant colours make you stand out from the crowd, it washes out, it is kind to your hair, the colour choice is amazing. Do I need to say more?!
We know how it feels when you have a sudden urge to dye your hair a different shade. We usually reach for a wig, but if you do fancy dying it then you can quickly and easily with this fab hair dye. It is non-damaging, easy to use and provides you with unique results that will leave everyone talking about your hair. So be prepared to get those heads spinning ladies (and gents)!
Directions lasts between 4-12 washes. It contains no bleaching agents so is therefore not suitable for colouring dark hair. However, you can pre lighten dark hair with bleaching kits. Directions colour is perfect for a global colour, creating weaves or slices of colour and of course perfect for creating that on trend dip dye look.
How to use…
Firstly you need to shampoo your hair with a pH acid balanced shampoo, and of course we recommend La Riche Pre Colour Shampoo. As it is the best 🙂 this will give your shiny hair the correct acid balance, allowing the dye to achieve the best possible result.
Directions Colour Protecting Shampoo has been specifically formulated for coloured hair, enabling you to get the most out of your colour (longer lasting). Leaving hair soft and manageable with a great shine.
Comb your the dye into your hair until it emulsifies (becomes frothy). The pigments will have penetrated in to the hair, lighter shades may require a little more combing.
The processing time is between 15 and 30 minutes, a plastic cap will contain the heat on the hair helping to achieve a better result. Eeek your nearly there :)… Make sure you let the dye develop for the time required to achieve those perfect shades.
Rinse your tresses thoroughly keeping well away from the face with warm water until all the residue dye has been removed. no sneaky peaks allowed…
If more than one colour is applied the hair must be washed and dried separately, greater care must be taken when partially colouring lighter hair as colours can mix when on the scalp.
Our handy tips on achieving perfection colour…
- Wear rubber/plastic gloves when applying (bright red hands are not attractive).
- Use Vaseline or petroleum jelly around the hairline to avoid and staining. (we don’t want a red face too!)
- Don’t mix directions hair dye with peroxide (big no no).
- Don’t use on eyelashes etc (it’s just not a good idea)
